"FALL IN LOVE WITH MUSICAL MOZART"

AT UM'S GUSMAN CONCERT HALL

Concert to feature Martin Camacho

and the South Beach Chamber Ensemble

CORAL GABLES, Florida - Oct. 23, 2007 - The Civic Chorale of Greater Miami is planning a romantic season opener in conjunction with Barry University, the South Beach Chamber Ensemble, and internationally acclaimed pianist Martin Camacho.  

The concert, a seasonal affair titled "Fall in Love with Musical Mozart," will be held at 8 p.m. Nov. 18 at the University of Miami's Gusman Concert Hall, 1314 Miller Drive on the UM campus.   Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 seniors, free to UM students, and $5 for all other students.  

The concert will be in a variety of languages, including the Magnificat by J.C. Bach in Latin, In Remembrance in English, and Dirait'on in French.   Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 will feature Camacho accompanied by the South Beach Chamber Ensemble.   The chorale will also perform Christmas Goes Classical for some holiday spirit.

The concert will be directed by Dr. Robert Gower for the Civic Chorale and Dr. Giselle Elgarresta Rios for the Barry University Chamber Ensemble.   Selected choral pieces will be conducted by Paul Whiting.

A pre-concert raffle begins at 7 p.m. in the Gusman Concert Hall lobby and boasts such prizes as a tarpon fishing trip in Marathon, Fla., an AT&T Sync Phone including Music Bundle Kit and 6 months free service, $200 Lands' End Gift Cards and much more.   One raffle ticket is included with the purchase of every concert ticket.   Additional raffle tickets are $2 each or three tickets for $5.   Raffle participants need not be present to win.

The Civic Chorale of Greater Miami was founded as a non-profit community-based choir in 1982.   Since then, the Chorale has been one of South Florida's most active adult choral ensembles, providing community and university-based singers as well as area audiences the opportunity to experience live performances of great choral music.

Camacho has won numerous piano competitions throughout Mexico, Cuba and the United States.   The recipient of Mexico's National Endowment for the Arts (FONCA) prestigious grant for his dissemination of Mexican music, Camacho is a full-time music faculty member and assistant to the chair of Barry University's Fine Arts Department.

The South Beach Chamber Ensemble began in 1997 with a free concert of Haydn and Dvorak Piano Trios at the Bass Museum of Art in Miami Beach. The ensemble has since performed at the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens, Jewish Museum of Florida, Wolfsonian Museum, Miami Beach Community Church, St. John's on the Lake United
